Outstanding Friday at the Swift County Courthouse!
Our group had the opportunity to sit down with Leanna Larson, Director, and her incredible staff to learn more about the impact of the Swift County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and Economic Development Authority (EDA).
One of the biggest takeaways from our visit was understanding how sustainable housing and accessible, affordable childcare directly impact the success of a community. For businesses to grow and for young entrepreneurs to take that next step, people need stability — a place to live and dependable childcare options. Without those foundations, it becomes much harder for individuals to enter the workforce, start businesses, or expand opportunities.
This experience opened our students’ eyes to the bigger picture of economic development. It’s not just about starting a business — it’s about creating an environment where people have the support systems needed to succeed.
Thank you to Leanna Larson and her staff for sharing how their work is helping build stronger communities and creating real opportunities across Swift County!
